Hello! My name is Brandi Sherrell and I am eagerly awaiting the upcoming school year as the three year old teacher here at St. Mary of the Knobs School. I was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana and currently live in Floyds Knobs with my husband Scott. We have two children. Garrett is twenty-two and Grace is twenty and both are in college.
This will be my ninth year teaching Preschool here at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic School. I previously taught first grade at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in New Albany for seven years. I chose to take some time off to stay home with my own children and privately tutored children ages five through twelve for ten years. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary Education from Indiana University Southeast. I am looking forward to attending workshops, conferences, and classes this school year and next summer in Early Childhood Education.
I believe that each child is a precious gift from God and should be encouraged to learn through positive interaction, hands on experiences, exploration and play. I also believe that the overall Preschool classroom should be a fun and happy place, where children are loved and encouraged to explore, play, and engage in experiences that will peak their curiosity, foster a love of God, build friendships, and develop an excitement for learning. I am looking forward to an exciting year at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic School.
